PRESCRIPTIONS

Please Read First when setting up online requests

Before you begin:

  • ✔️ You must register on Pippo first. If you haven’t, click here to register.

  • 📅 In 2025, we are trialling Pippo for medication requests, which means:

    • Only repeat medications can be requested online.

    • You cannot request new medications this way.

    • Some patients may be asked to come in for a medication review.

How to Request Your Medication

Step 1: Log in to Pippo

Go to https://app.pippo.ie
Enter your email and password.
Click Log In.

Why this matters:
This protects your medical information and links directly to your GP records.

Step 2: Click “Request Medication”

On your Pippo homepage, click the button that says “Request Medication”.

Why this matters:
This brings you to the part of the system that connects with your prescription history.

Step 3: Choose the Medications You Need

You’ll see a list of your regular (repeat) medications.
Tick the ones you want to request.

Why this matters:
You can only request items that have been approved for repeat by your GP.

Step 4: Add a Note (Optional)

There’s a space to write a note to the GP or pharmacist.
For example:
“I’m going away soon – can I get 2 months instead of 1?”

Why this matters:
If something has changed or you have a request, this helps the GP understand what you need.

Step 5: Choose Where to Send the Prescription

You can select your preferred pharmacy from the dropdown list.
Make sure you choose the one you want to collect from.

Why this matters:
This ensures your medication gets sent to the right place, without delays.

Step 6: Submit Your Request

Click “Send Request” or “Submit”.
You’ll get a confirmation message.

Why this matters:
This tells you the request has been sent to the practice safely and securely.

How Long Will It Take?

Please allow 3 working days (72 hours) for the practice to process your request.
If it’s urgent, please call the practice directly.

What Can’t I Do on Pippo (Yet)?

  • ❌ You can’t request a new medication.

  • ❌ You can’t change doses or add something new.

  • You might be asked to book a review if it’s been a while.
