Routine & Acute GP Consultations

Feeling Unwell or Have New Symptoms?

We understand it can be worrying when you're unwell.

A consultation can help with:

  • Diagnosing new medical conditions

  • Starting or adjusting prescriptions

  • Monitoring chronic illnesses

  • Ordering blood tests and scans

To help us provide safe and timely care, here’s how our system works:

 Routine vs. Acute Appointments

  • Routine appointments (non-urgent): Usually available within 7 days.

  • Acute appointments (new or worsening symptoms): Typically seen within 48 hours.

  • Emergencies: If your issue is life-threatening, please call 999 or attend the nearest Emergency Department.

 Before Booking

  • The HSE provides helpful self-care advice for common symptoms — check there first.

 Booking Your Appointment

Appointments can be booked online through our PIPPO portal.

To help us direct you to the right care:

  • Please give us brief information about your concern.

  • If you prefer not to share details with reception, you can write to us securely here — it goes directly to the GP team.

Over the Phone, Video Call, or Face to Face

We offer flexible consultation options depending on your needs. Some issues can be safely and efficiently managed over the phone or via video, while others are better suited to an in-person appointment.

Consultations that may be suitable for a phone or video call include:

  •  Prescription reviews

  •  Follow-up on blood tests or investigations

  •  Ongoing management of chronic conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, blood pressure)

  •  Mental health check-ins or medication follow-ups

  •  Mild infections (e.g. sinus or urinary symptoms)

  •  Routine contraception reviews (please note for the combined oral contraceptive pill we need your blood pressure and weight annually)

  • Medical certs or simple admin queries

If you're unsure, our reception team is trained to help guide you to the most appropriate type of appointment.

 After Booking

 Helpful Tips when booking

  • One problem = one appointment. If you have more to discuss, consider booking a second consultation

  • If you decline a second consultation, an extended consultation may cost up to €110, depending on what’s needed.

  • For special procedures (e.g. joint injections, smears, minor surgery), please tell us when booking so we can allocate time and the right clinician.

  • In urgent cases, we will try to see you the same day — but choice of doctor or time may not be possible.

What is the PIPPO Portal?

The PIPPO Portal is our secure online system that allows you to manage your healthcare needs anytime, anywhere.

Through PIPPO, you can:

  •  Book appointments with your GP or nurse

  •  Request repeat prescriptions

  •  Submit information ahead of your consultation

  •  View messages or updates from the practice (where enabled)

It’s a quick and confidential way to get things done without needing to call the clinic. Whether you’re booking a routine check-up or running low on medication, the PIPPO Portal makes it easier to stay on top of your care.
